SOFYA's George Cucerzan got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 14th match minute, Lotasi AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Ghețea to maneuver through the defense. Dinu Morovan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 16th minute, Valer Tapalagă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In a very dangerous position, a player in F.C. SOFYA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Valentin Ghețea walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Robert Martinaș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, F.C. SOFYA's goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Câmpeanu came free, but Ciprian Burtescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robert Martinaș was extremely unlucky when he, in the 34th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Pompiliu Spiridon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Olariu having to interfere. Ivan Olariu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dinu Morovan in the 39th minute. Ciprian Burtescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Traian Dănălache, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ivan Enescu to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Lotasi AC's zone, Robert Martinaș stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Olariu came out of the goal and Robert Martinaș tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 59 played minutes F.C. SOFYA got a freekick which was hit by Paul Ailioaiei. In the 62nd minute, Traian Dănălache ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ciprian Burtescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. F.C. SOFYA's Ciprian Burtescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. SOFYA from getting a goal against them. Pompiliu Spiridon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Robert Martinaș left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The F.C. SOFYA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Petrică Cârnațiu fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lotasi AC's protests and gave Petrică Cârnațiu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th minute, Petrică Cârnațiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dinu Morovan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Ivan Olariu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pompiliu Spiridon scored 2-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivan Olariu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. F.C. SOFYA's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
