Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) FC Steaua's Costin Goicea started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ernest Udup charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. FC Steaua's Virgil Nebunu got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, Speranta Victoria's goal looked a bit too open when Costin Goicea came free, but Avram Elian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Speranta Victoria's Avram Elian got control of the ball when Virgil Nebunu tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 15 minutes, Virgil Nebunu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Steaua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgil Nebunu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Steaua's attack was well implemented in the 19th minute, but when Virgil Nebunu was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 30th minute, but Avram Elian got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Speranta Victoria hanging dry this time. A hard shot 36 in the game by Virgil Nebunu from a close distance when the talented Avram Elian managed to make a qualified save. Speranta Victoria's players were relieved. Virgil Nebunu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Avram Elian made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Speranta Victoria's zone, Virgil Nebunu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Avram Elian came out of the goal and Virgil Nebunu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 48 minutes into the match, Speranta Victoria's goal looked a bit too open when Costin Goicea came free, but Avram Elian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernest Udup was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Speranta Victoria's goal looked a bit too open when Costin Goicea came free, but Avram Elian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Virgil Nebunu made a precise shot to the right of Avram Elian. Speranta Victoria's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Virgil Nebunu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Avram Elian came out of the goal and Virgil Nebunu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Costin Goicea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
