Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Smirdan's Dan Balaban started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Isac Iovanovici could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Virgil Barbălată made a huge save. In the 9th minute Cezar Calomfir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gică Cozmâncă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dan Bosioc blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gică Cozmâncă having to make a save. In the 16th minute, Nicodim Șeimeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dan Bosioc might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gică Cozmâncă. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dan Bosioc ran back to his position shaking his head. 19 minutes into the game, Valer Lăzan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Unirea Podu Iloaiei's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Smirdan the free kick. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dan Bosioc to strike the kick off in the second half. Mugurel Predescu charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mugurel Predescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Smirdan getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Smirdan's Călin Negrescu got his second yellow card of the match in the 93rd minute. The referee ordered Călin Negrescu off the ground. After a rather tough play, Smirdan's Călin Negrescu got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The Smirdan fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Unirea Podu Iloaiei were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
