When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Dan Bosioc sped through gNet FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Florin Răcănel. Cezar Calomfir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Florin Răcănel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Unirea Podu Iloaiei's Virgil Barbălată proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Unirea Podu Iloaiei from getting a goal against them. If Mihăiţă Nenițescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dan Bosioc might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florin Răcănel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dan Bosioc ran back to his position shaking his head. Unirea Podu Iloaiei's Mihăiţă Nenițescu got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute Cezar Calomfir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florin Răcănel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dan Bosioc in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florin Răcănel prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iordache Codru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 67 minutes, Emanuel Nistor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. gNet FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Nistor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Florin Răcănel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 72 minutes, Mihăiţă Nenițescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Unirea Podu Iloaiei's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihăiţă Nenițescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Cezar Calomfir came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Unirea Podu Iloaiei fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezar Calomfir couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Unirea Podu Iloaiei getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Flavius Negrițoiu hit a great ball. Emanuel Nistor took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Virgil Barbălată. Unirea Podu Iloaiei's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Cezar Calomfir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Florin Răcănel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The gNet FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
