The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iosif Vătăşel charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iosif Vătăşel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Universitatea Craiova booed when HooLiGanS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iosif Vătăşel didn't get a good kick on the ball. A nice corner shot did that Liviu Chițac got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Stelian Cotuțiu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cazimir Puric fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stelian Cotuțiu having to interfere. Iordache Opriș might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stelian Cotuțiu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iordache Opriș ran back to his position shaking his head. Stelian Cotuțiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cazimir Puric in the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind HooLiGanS's goalkeeper Stelian Cotuțiu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stelian Cotuțiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergiu Moldoveanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Sebastian Nicolae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vali Tuleiu in the 26th minute of the match. Vintilă Alucai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Sebastian Nicolae tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Vali Tuleiu came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the HooLiGanS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vali Tuleiu couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute, Vintilă Alucai made a precise shot to the right of Sebastian Nicolae. FC Universitatea Craiova's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 39 minutes into the match, HooLiGanS's Vali Tuleiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastian Nicolae narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vintilă Alucai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

In the 68th minute Vintilă Alucai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Nicolae saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Vali Tuleiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. HooLiGanS's supporters rose to their feet, but Vali Tuleiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastian Nicolae breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
