The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When Matei Văcărescu came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Giurgeni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matei Văcărescu couldn't finish the play. Giurgeni played a much better game than FC Universitatea Craiova and deserved their victory. The FC Universitatea Craiova players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
