After 8 minutes of play, FC Universitatea Craiova's Valer Predescu made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vlad Gligor was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Virgil Agrigoroaiei in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maxim Codrescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. ispi's Vlad Gligor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valer Predescu in the 19th minute of play. Silviu Jder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Vlad Gligor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Universitatea Craiova's Valer Predescu got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC Universitatea Craiova's zone, Felix Dragomir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maxim Codrescu came out of the goal and Felix Dragomir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Universitatea Craiova's Maxim Codrescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save FC Universitatea Craiova from getting a goal against them. Vlad Gligor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valer Predescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgil Agrigoroaiei ran back to his position shaking his head. Felix Dragomir could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Maxim Codrescu made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Valer Predescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Universitatea Craiova's supporters rose to their feet, but Valer Predescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vlad Gligor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Virgil Agrigoroaiei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to ispi getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Sever Stoian hit a great ball. Silviu Jder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ispi's Vlad Gligor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valer Predescu in the 79th minute of play. If Virgil Agrigoroaiei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augustin Nanu kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. If Felix Dragomir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to FC Universitatea Craiova getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Silviu Cojocaru hit a great ball. The FC Universitatea Craiova supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Universitatea Craiova would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
