Claudiu Marina in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Constantin Gordunescu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Olteni CSS getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Narcis Costache hit a great ball. 15 minutes in the game, Adrian Cosariu dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugur Bociort in the 17th minute of play forced Olteni CSS's goalkeeper Marcel Buciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Olteni CSS's Emanuel Florean slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Constantin Gordunescu. That made the score 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. After some careless play in the FCM Bacau defense, Claudiu Marina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Constantin Gordunescu. The FCM Bacau fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Constantin Gordunescu should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Florean made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Claudiu Marina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Constantin Gordunescu. FCM Bacau's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudiu Marina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 59 minutes, Stelian Cipău mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olteni CSS and the FCM Bacau players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FCM Bacau getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Virgil Alexandrescu hit a great ball. Constantin Gordunescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Florean in the 66th minute of play. Constantin Gordunescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Florean in the 70th minute of the match. Claudiu Marina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FCM Bacau's Virgil Alexandrescu pulled a muscle in his back after 76 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After a rather tough play, Olteni CSS's Narcis Costache got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 80th minute, Codrin Ştefănică hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emanuel Florean took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Constantin Gordunescu. Constantin Gordunescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. If Emanuel Florean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudiu Marina in the 88th minute of play forced FCM Bacau's goalkeeper Constantin Gordunescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute Emanuel Florean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantin Gordunescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Claudiu Marina came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Olteni CSS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudiu Marina couldn't finish the play.
