After some careless play in the Giurgeni defense, Codrin Opaina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Niculae Harbuz. The Giurgeni fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Niculae Harbuz should have stopped the shot. In the 20th minute, Narcis Costache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ovidiu Dancu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Marcel Buciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuel Florean took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Niculae Harbuz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudiu Marina in the 26th minute of play forced Giurgeni's goalkeeper Niculae Harbuz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Florean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Niculae Harbuz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Olteni CSS's Narcis Costache got a free kick in the 30th minute. If Ovidiu Dancu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Giurgeni's Matei Văcărescu in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Olteni CSS's goalie prevented a goal. Marcel Buciu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matei Văcărescu's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Niculae Harbuz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Florean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Matei Văcărescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Codrin Opaina kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 49th minute, Matei Văcărescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Giurgeni's supporters rose to their feet, but Matei Văcărescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcel Buciu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Niculae Harbuz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudiu Marina in the 54th minute. If Matei Văcărescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Olteni CSS's Emanuel Florean in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Niculae Harbuz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudiu Marina went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Claudiu Marina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niculae Harbuz having to interfere. A collision led to Giurgeni getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Pavel Stoicănescu hit a great ball. Niculae Harbuz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Florean in the 82nd minute of play. Matei Văcărescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Marcel Buciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ovidiu Dancu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.
