The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emanuel Răduțu kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. The supporters of Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca booed when FC Dinamo 1948 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Târban didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Dinamo 1948's Florin Borogeanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save FC Dinamo 1948 from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the match, FC Dinamo 1948's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Dănălache came free, but Florin Borogeanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florin Borogeanu made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Marian Romanescu sent off a good shot on target. With his leg Florin Borogeanu managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca's Eugen Dănălache fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Denis Surugiu scored 1-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alexandru Lucrețiu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vali Andrițoiu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 32nd minute. Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Alexandru Lucrețiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Surugiu in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th match minute, FC Dinamo 1948 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodor Vulcan to maneuver through the defense. Florin Borogeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vali Andrițoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Vintilă Siclovan notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca's Alexandru Lucrețiu. Alexandru Lucrețiu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Alexandru Lucrețiu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vintilă Siclovan in the 53rd minute. In the 54th match minute, Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Lupșe to maneuver through the defense. Teodor Vulcan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandru Lucrețiu having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Vintilă Siclovan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iacob Constantinescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Florin Borogeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute Vali Andrițoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florin Borogeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Surugiu in the 67th minute of play forced Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Alexandru Lucrețiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Denis Surugiu 68 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. Iacob Constantinescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 82 minutes of play FC Dinamo 1948's Fabian Târban was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Florin Borogeanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vali Andrițoiu in the 86th minute of the match. In the 88th match minute, FC Dinamo 1948 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodor Vulcan to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd play minute Vintilă Siclovan came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Alexandru Lucrețiu. 1-4. Although Sepcile Rosii Cluj-Napoca had been in control for most of the match, FC Dinamo 1948 still came away with the win.
