Florin Pacurar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costin Apostolescu in the 6th minute of the match. Ponita SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Juverdeanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Ponita SC's Isac Ciuvică sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rareș Dumitru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Isac Ciuvică fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The score was 2-0 after a penalty in the 41st minute, where Ponita SC:s Isac Ciuvică tricked Potingani FCM:s Rareș Dumitru with a difficult ball by the left post. 44 minutes into the game, Ponita SC's Marian Danciu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rareș Dumitru made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Costel Pintilie made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sever Răuțchi in the 53rd minute of play forced Ponita SC's goalkeeper Florin Pacurar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isac Ciuvică blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rareș Dumitru having to make a save. Felix Juverdeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Rareș Dumitru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isac Ciuvică fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rareș Dumitru having to interfere. Ovidiu Dabija received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Florin Pacurar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isac Ciuvică fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rareș Dumitru having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Potingani FCM's goal looked a bit too open when Isac Ciuvică came free, but Rareș Dumitru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Felix Juverdeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ponita SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Juverdeanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rareș Dumitru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rareș Dumitru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Isac Ciuvică's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Rareș Dumitru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marian Danciu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Juverdeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rareș Dumitru having to interfere. Ponita SC were furious when Alin Dănănae was red carded, 87 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 87 played minutes Ponita SC got a freekick which was hit by Alin Dănănae.
