A beautiful save bye FCSB Alexandria's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in FCSB Alexandria's zone, Aurelian Niculescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augustin Nicoliță came out of the goal and Aurelian Niculescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Augustin Nicoliță took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelian Niculescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Vali Mara fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Vali Mara hit a great ball. Iacob Oravițan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Augustin Nicoliță. FCSB Alexandria's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Vlad Simionescu charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vlad Simionescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FCSB Alexandria's Vlad Simionescu got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Iacob Oravițan, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Ferdinand Codrea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FCSB Alexandria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Licuriciul the free kick. The supporters of Licuriciul booed when FCSB Alexandria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinand Codrea didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 42 minutes, Petrică Nebunu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Licuriciul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petrică Nebunu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Petrică Nebunu managed to get in a good position for a shot.
