Victor Harnagea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovidiu Țepeluș read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. After 22 played minutes F.C Rapid Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by Ovidiu Barboni. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victor Harnagea in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ovidiu Țepeluș saved F.C Rapid Bucuresti from getting behind. 30 minutes into the match, F.C Rapid Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Harnagea came free, but Ovidiu Țepeluș reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, Sandu Bănățeanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C Rapid Bucuresti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sustorog the free kick. A collision led to F.C Rapid Bucuresti getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. F.C Rapid Bucuresti's Ovidiu Țepeluș proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save F.C Rapid Bucuresti from getting a goal against them. Ovidiu Țepeluș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ionel Dragoș in the 58th minute of play. Ovidiu Țepeluș made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Robert Bociort sent off a good shot on target. The F.C Rapid Bucuresti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovidiu Țepeluș should have stopped the shot. In the 93rd minute Radu Răuțu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Țepeluș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pavel Ibrișin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Dorel Mustățea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sustorog's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
