Spectators: 7490 (Terracing: 5618, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Iosif Bârsan kicked off to start the match. When Iustinian Ghețea fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Juniors's protests and gave Iustinian Ghețea a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Juniors getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Iustinian Ghețea hit a great ball. BSC Young Boys's Gelu Măgură played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constantin Vasiliu in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute Constantin Vasiliu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gelu Măgură saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Daniel Focșa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 20th match minute, FC Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandu Olariu to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, FC Juniors's Răzvan Jivulescu got control of the ball when Daniel Focșa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Constantin Vasiliu struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Gelu Măgură didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Juniors. In the 28th match minute, FC Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iustinian Ghețea to maneuver through the defense. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandu Olariu to make the kick off. Răzvan Jivulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iosif Bârsan in the 51st minute of play. If Daniel Focșa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Constantin Vasiliu kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Daniel Focșa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marin Codreanu, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Daniel Focșa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in FC Juniors's zone, Daniel Focșa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Răzvan Jivulescu came out of the goal and Daniel Focșa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
