In the 5th minute Iosif Bârsan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toader Jerca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When BSC Young Boys's Iacob Chiriac in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. BSC Young Boys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Urtica the free kick. In the 21st minute, Vlad Baștină hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Urtica's Dacian Ţirpescu got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filip Măcrineanu got free with Gelu Măgură in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Iosif Bârsan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Toader Jerca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Răzvan Zbereanu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gelu Măgură. BSC Young Boys's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sebastian Nicolescu kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Gelu Măgură was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Filip Măcrineanu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Filip Măcrineanu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Urtica's Sebastian Nicolescu suffered a concussion in the 45th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Vlad Baștină was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 46th minute, Vlad Baștină hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Focșa to strike the kick off in the second half. If Iacob Chiriac had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. When Florin Tărbac fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Urtica's protests and gave Florin Tărbac a yellow card for diving instead. The goalkeeper, Toader Jerca, was totally fooled by BSC Young Boys's Marin Codreanu, who 60 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Filip Măcrineanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 66 minutes, Filip Măcrineanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Urtica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filip Măcrineanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Filip Măcrineanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gelu Măgură having to interfere. When Daniel Focșa came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the BSC Young Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Focșa couldn't finish the play. Gelu Măgură showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filip Măcrineanu in the 74th minute of the match. When Radu Gorjanu fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BSC Young Boys's protests and gave Radu Gorjanu a yellow card for diving instead. Radu Gorjanu hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Gelu Măgură made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filip Măcrineanu in the 80th minute of play. Filip Măcrineanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urtica's Filip Măcrineanu got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
