Spurs-România's Horaţiu Lupeanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silviu Secară in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute Petru Savu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horaţiu Lupeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petru Savu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Lupeanu having to interfere. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silviu Secară made a kick off. With his leg Horaţiu Lupeanu managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Bicau's Petru Savu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. During the 55th minute of the match Lucrețiu Cândreanu completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Lucrețiu Cândreanu a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Lucrețiu Cândreanu kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After having played for 58 minutes, Petru Savu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bicau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petru Savu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
