Spectators: 7545 (Terracing: 5660, Seating: 1735, VIP seats: 150) Sarbestii CSM's Octav Bosânceanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Sarbestii CSM from getting a goal against them. After having played for 10 minutes, Vintilă Săliştean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juventus Cluj-Napoca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vintilă Săliştean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Octav Bosânceanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vintilă Săliştean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Vintilă Săliştean got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iulian Enachescu charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iulian Enachescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Juventus Cluj-Napoca's Iulian Enachescu got a free kick in the 21st minute. Sarbestii CSM's Horia Codru couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 21st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Juventus Cluj-Napoca. Ştefan Panait received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Horaţiu Bot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vintilă Săliştean recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Octav Bosânceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vintilă Săliştean in the 42nd minute of play. Cristian Negruț's late challenge caught a Juventus Cluj-Napoca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristian Negruț helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute, one of Sarbestii CSM:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sarbestii CSM. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sarbestii CSM's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gheorghe Lăzăroiu was slow to take the kick. During this time Juventus Cluj-Napoca's players had a chance to rest. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vintilă Săliştean to strike the kick off in the second half. Gheorghe Lăzăroiu kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. If Vintilă Săliştean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Juventus Cluj-Napoca's Emanuel Raicu got a free kick in the 57th minute. Octav Bosânceanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bogdan Comarnescu in the 60th minute of the match. Sarbestii CSM's Gigi Ursulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 61st match minute, Juventus Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iulian Enachescu to maneuver through the defense. In the 69thth minute of the game Bogdan Comarnescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sarbestii CSM's Octav Bosânceanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Sarbestii CSM's Aristide Şoimu got a free kick in the 69th minute. When Aristide Şoimu fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sarbestii CSM's protests and gave Aristide Şoimu a yellow card for diving instead. Gigi Ursulescu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Horaţiu Bot skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Octav Bosânceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vintilă Săliştean in the 93rd minute of play. Octav Bosânceanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vintilă Săliştean went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Juventus Cluj-Napoca's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
