The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpected shot in the 3rd minute by Ionică Tudorache got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Andrei Medrea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelian Danciu having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Irinel Negulici managed to get in a good position for a shot. FCSB's supporters rose to their feet, but Irinel Negulici was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelian Danciu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andrei Medrea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Aurelian Danciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Beghinesti FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andrei Medrea came free, but Aurelian Danciu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aurelian Danciu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrei Medrea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ionică Tudorache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Mihail Zbârciog made a huge save. In the 26th minute, Aron Rebengiuc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 29 played minutes Beghinesti FC got a freekick which was hit by Vlad Raţiu. After a defensive mix-up in FCSB's zone, Ionică Tudorache stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihail Zbârciog came out of the goal and Ionică Tudorache tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andrei Medrea was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 56 minutes, Aron Rebengiuc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beghinesti FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aron Rebengiuc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 60th minute Andrei Medrea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelian Danciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Irinel Negulici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Aurelian Danciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Irinel Negulicis short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Aurelian Danciu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 78 minutes into the match, Beghinesti FC's goalkeeper Aurelian Danciu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Irinel Negulici. Mihail Zbârciog showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aron Rebengiuc in the 82nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Beghinesti FC's zone, Irinel Negulici stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelian Danciu came out of the goal and Irinel Negulici tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Beghinesti FC's Aurelian Danciu got control of the ball when Irinel Negulici tried to sneak it across the goal line. FCSB played a much better game than Beghinesti FC and deserved their victory. The Beghinesti FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
