Eric Apopei hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Cursaru's goalkeeper Cristinel Târcă had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cătălin Vermeşan. Cristinel Târcă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gheorghe Zbora, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Octav Postolache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cursaru getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Emil Ivan hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cursaru's zone, Gheorghe Zbora stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristinel Târcă came out of the goal and Gheorghe Zbora tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 74 played minutes Gologanu FC got a freekick which was hit by Iurie Isaicu. Eliodor Petrescu's late challenge caught a Gologanu FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliodor Petrescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th match minute, Cursaru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliodor Petrescu to maneuver through the defense. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gologanu FC reached it. Filip Țâpu's late challenge caught a Gologanu FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filip Țâpu helped the player get up and apologised. After 82 played minutes Cursaru got a freekick which was hit by Filip Țâpu. Gheorghe Zbora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristinel Târcă having to interfere. During the 88th minute of the match Filip Țâpu completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Filip Țâpu a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 89 played minutes Cursaru got a freekick which was hit by Filip Țâpu. Cristinel Târcă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cătălin Vermeşan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The attack was good, but when Gheorghe Zbora in the 94th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cursaru players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gologanu FC.
