After a defensive mix-up in Udvarhelyi's zone, Gheorghe Vancea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valer Zdrelea came out of the goal and Gheorghe Vancea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Isaresti CSM's Eugen Zgârcu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisc Jienescu in the 22nd minute of play. In the 28th minute Codruț Buzoianu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valer Zdrelea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gheorghe Vancea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Valer Zdrelea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Codruț Buzoianu, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Eugen Zgârcu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisc Jienescu in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisc Jienescu to make the kick off. Iurie Beniuc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eugen Zgârcu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisc Jienescu in the 64th minute of the match. Francisc Jienescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Eugen Zgârcu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Codruț Buzoianu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The long shot by Ilie Găvănescu in the 74th minute really tested Valer Zdrelea's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 75 minutes into the game, Ivan Mustea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Udvarhelyi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Isaresti CSM the free kick. Ivan Mustea hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Codruț Buzoianu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Udvarhelyi's Valer Zdrelea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Codruț Buzoianu in the 82nd minute of play. Valer Zdrelea made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Gheorghe Vancea sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Iurie Beniuc managed to get in a good position for a shot. Udvarhelyi's supporters rose to their feet, but Iurie Beniuc was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugen Zgârcu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Isaresti CSM players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Udvarhelyi from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
