Ivan Stelian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Olimpiu Tarcea made a huge save. When Doru Fetea fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CFR Cluj's protests and gave Doru Fetea a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to CFR Cluj getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Doru Fetea hit a great ball. Sintamarie UFC's Codrin Buhăescu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 5th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Olimpiu Tarcea but with some difficulty. Ivan Stelian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Olimpiu Tarcea made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Sintamarie UFC's Codrin Buhăescu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Olimpiu Tarcea. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. In the 15th minute Remus Dulca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucrețiu Pășcuțoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Sintamarie UFC's goal looked a bit too open when Remus Dulca came free, but Lucrețiu Pășcuțoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Sergiu Ivănescu took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Olimpiu Tarcea to make any attempt to save it. In the 27th minute, Octav Preda made a precise shot to the right of Lucrețiu Pășcuțoiu. Sintamarie UFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Sergiu Ivănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olimpiu Tarcea having to interfere. After 35 minutes CFR Cluj's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Codrin Buhăescu who took care of the corner kick. Ferdinand Otețea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Olimpiu Tarcea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivan Stelian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ferdinand Otețea came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Sintamarie UFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdinand Otețea couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ivan Stelian was the one to do the kick off. Sergiu Ivănescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55 played minutes CFR Cluj got a freekick which was hit by Octav Preda. Ivan Stelian blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olimpiu Tarcea having to make a save. Iordache Maxim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Sintamarie UFC booed when CFR Cluj was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toader Şandru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olimpiu Tarcea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivan Stelian went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Olimpiu Tarcea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Stelian in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Eric Purje left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CFR Cluj fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Lucrețiu Pășcuțoiu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dorin Costeiantu. Ivan Stelian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Olimpiu Tarcea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Codrin Buhăescu made a precise shot to the right of Olimpiu Tarcea. CFR Cluj's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. In the 91st match minute, CFR Cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octav Preda to maneuver through the defense. CFR Cluj's Olimpiu Tarcea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sever Bărbuceanu in the 95th minute of play. After a rather tough play, CFR Cluj's Cristian Otețea got a free kick in the 96th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sintamarie UFC had played much better football throughout.
