But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aron Loga couldn't finish the play. Aron Loga scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgil Iuzbașa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aron Loga struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Virgil Iuzbașa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Plesa SC. Virgil Iuzbașa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Stelian Greblă scored 0-3 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgil Iuzbașa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Stelian Greblă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Stelian Greblă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 45 minutes into the game, Marin Pătrașcu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Steaua LM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Plesa SC the free kick. A collision led to Steaua LM getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Marin Pătrașcu hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Steaua LM's Virgil Iuzbașa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aron Loga in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Lucrețiu Rednic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marin Pătrașcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Hurgoi having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Steaua LM's goalkeeper Virgil Iuzbașa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stelian Greblă. Plesa SC played a much better game than Steaua LM and deserved their victory. The Steaua LM players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
