Aron Loga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nichifor Săliştean having to interfere. Nichifor Săliştean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aron Loga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pompiliu Tilea during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th match minute, Plesa SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pompiliu Tilea to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 12 in the game by Stelian Greblă from a close distance when the talented Nichifor Săliştean managed to make a qualified save. Fulgerul 1976 Braila's players were relieved. In the 36th minute, Stelian Greblă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nichifor Săliştean stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aron Loga's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Emanuel Hurgoi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Aron Loga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nichifor Săliştean was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. In the 82nd minute Albert Măgherușan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nichifor Săliştean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stelian Greblă charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stelian Greblă the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nichifor Săliştean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aron Loga, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Plesa SC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Fulgerul 1976 Braila to win.
