Spectators: 7266 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 40) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Virgil Sărăroiu kicked off to start the match. Ionuț Gogeas short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Andréas Nordal to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Pompiliu Gaciu hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the match, Steaua LM's Ionuț Gogea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andréas Nordal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ionuț Gogea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Andréas Nordal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgil Iuzbașa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgil Sărăroiu in the 16th minute of play. NLC Stars's Dorin Pânzaru got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Dorin Pânzaru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Virgil Iuzbașa was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Virgil Iuzbașa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgil Sărăroiu in the 25th minute of play. If Virgil Sărăroiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the game, Virgil Sărăroiu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Virgil Iuzbașa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Virgil Sărăroiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Iuzbașa having to interfere. Dorin Pânzaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virgil Iuzbașa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Marin Pătrașcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andréas Nordal having to interfere. Virgil Iuzbașa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorin Pânzaru in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marin Pătrașcu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 59 minutes of play, NLC Stars's Dorin Pânzaru made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Virgil Iuzbașa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marin Pătrașcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andréas Nordal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionuț Gogea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andréas Nordal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marin Pătrașcu in the 65th minute of play. A collision led to Steaua LM getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Felix Ploieșteanu hit a great ball. Dorin Pânzaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filip Bernea kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Marin Pătrașcu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua LM's supporters rose to their feet, but Marin Pătrașcu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andréas Nordal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Steaua LM! The goalkeeper, Virgil Iuzbașa, was totally fooled by NLC Stars's Andrei Urdeş, who 85 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 90 minutes into the match, Steaua LM's goalkeeper Virgil Iuzbașa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorin Pânzaru. A collision led to NLC Stars getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Liviu Coșmeanu hit a great ball. When Ionuț Gogea came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Steaua LM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ionuț Gogea couldn't finish the play. NLC Stars's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
