Stelian Greblă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andréas Nordal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorin Pânzaru in the 13th minute of play forced Plesa SC's goalkeeper Emanuel Hurgoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Hurgoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgil Sărăroiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Dorin Pânzaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Hurgoi having to interfere. Moise Antonescu kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Plesa SC's zone, Dorin Pânzaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Hurgoi came out of the goal and Dorin Pânzaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Virgil Sărăroiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. NLC Stars's Andréas Nordal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aron Loga in the 29th minute of play. Aron Loga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andréas Nordal having to interfere. NLC Stars's Andréas Nordal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save NLC Stars from getting a goal against them. Andréas Nordal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stelian Greblă in the 41st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aron Loga in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andréas Nordal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stelian Greblă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andréas Nordal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Virgil Sărăroiu made a kick off. Dorin Pânzaru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Emanuel Hurgoi made a huge save. Andréas Nordal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stelian Greblă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aron Loga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stelian Greblă struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Andréas Nordal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Plesa SC. Aron Gane kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. If Aron Loga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute Stelian Greblă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andréas Nordal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basarab Codrescu lost his temper 80 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 80th minute, one of Plesa SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Plesa SC. Emanuel Hurgoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgil Sărăroiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Aron Gane kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, Plesa SC's Nicolae Aldescu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The NLC Stars supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing NLC Stars would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
