Corsarii Tycalosi's Dragoş Săvoiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Corsarii Tycalosi from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Nae Simionaş managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corsarii Tycalosi's supporters rose to their feet, but Nae Simionaş was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doru Gârneață breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Ghighiu AFC's Stelian Stancu got a free kick in the 12th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Corsarii Tycalosi's Sebastian Pâslaru tried to score from far away in the 12th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Dragoş Săvoiu made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Nicodim Gruescu sent off a good shot on target. 21 minutes into the match, Nae Simionaş had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Doru Gârneață. Ghighiu AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nae Simionaş was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience was convinced that Francisc Bădila's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dragoş Săvoiu was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Doru Gârneață made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nae Simionaş in the 31st minute of play. Sever Drăghici recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicodim Gruescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Dragoş Săvoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Corsarii Tycalosi's Sever Drăghici sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Doru Gârneață narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Corsarii Tycalosi were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisc Bădila was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Nicodim Gruescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dragoş Săvoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ghighiu AFC's Doru Gârneață played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nae Simionaş in the 63rd minute of play. Sever Drăghici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nae Simionaş received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Doru Gârneață tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Nicodim Gruescu made a precise shot to the right of Dragoş Săvoiu. Corsarii Tycalosi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Doru Gârneață made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nae Simionaş in the 77th minute of play. Sergiu Bărnuțiu kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Dragoş Săvoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicodim Gruescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisc Bădila in the 87th minute of play forced Corsarii Tycalosi's goalkeeper Dragoş Săvoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ghighiu AFC's Dorin Nacu got a free kick in the 89th minute. 93 minutes into the game, Corsarii Tycalosi's Mugurel Tâbârnă nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Doru Gârneață made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Doru Gârneață was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nae Simionaş showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 97 minute of play.
