Spectators: 7487 (Terracing: 5616, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Virgil Sărăroiu kicked off to start the match. 5 minutes into the match, Fulgerul 1976 Braila's goalkeeper Nichifor Săliştean had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorin Pânzaru. Fulgerul 1976 Braila's Nichifor Săliştean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgil Sărăroiu in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Virgil Sărăroiu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nichifor Săliştean, passed just outside the right post. When Codruț Bratu fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fulgerul 1976 Braila's protests and gave Codruț Bratu a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, Fulgerul 1976 Braila's Nichifor Săliştean got control of the ball when Dorin Pânzaru tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dorin Pânzaru was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 13th minute. NLC Stars's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dorin Pânzarus short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Nichifor Săliştean to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. NLC Stars's Dorin Pânzaru got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Virgil Sărăroiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nichifor Săliştean having to interfere. If Dorin Pânzaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Virgil Sărăroiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dorin Pânzaru got free with Nichifor Săliştean in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 27th minute, NLC Stars's Dorin Pânzaru ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nichifor Săliştean. Nichifor Săliştean yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 30 minutes into the game, Dorin Pânzaru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Nichifor Săliştean was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Romeo Manta's late challenge caught a NLC Stars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romeo Manta helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st minute, Virgil Sărăroiu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 44 minutes of play, NLC Stars's Virgil Sărăroiu made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nichifor Săliştean was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Sever Galușcă made the kick off in the second half. Nichifor Săliştean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorin Pânzaru in the 56th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Fulgerul 1976 Braila's zone, Virgil Sărăroiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nichifor Săliştean came out of the goal and Virgil Sărăroiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nichifor Săliştean didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Virgil Sărăroiu went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Nichifor Săliştean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorin Pânzaru in the 66th minute of the match. Virgil Sărăroiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nichifor Săliştean having to make a save. Nichifor Săliştean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgil Sărăroiu in the 70th minute of the match. NLC Stars's Aron Gane got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Virgil Sărăroiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Virgil Sărăroiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nichifor Săliştean didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aron Gane went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. In the 88th match minute, NLC Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aron Gane to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute Dorin Pânzaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nichifor Săliştean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
