Mugurel Tâbârnă hit a great ball. In the 10th minute Dorin Pânzaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dragoş Săvoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgil Sărăroiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dragoş Săvoiu having to interfere. Dorin Pânzaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dragoş Săvoiu having to interfere. Sever Drăghici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Andréas Nordal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Corsarii Tycalosi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. NLC Stars's Dorin Pânzaru got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Virgil Sărăroiu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Corsarii Tycalosi's Dragoş Săvoiu. Dragoş Săvoiu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 35th minute, Augustin Iorgu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Virgil Sărăroiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dragoş Săvoiu having to interfere. Filip Bernea's late challenge caught a Corsarii Tycalosi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filip Bernea helped the player get up and apologised. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nae Simionaş made a kick off. After having played for 58 minutes, Virgil Sărăroiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NLC Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgil Sărăroiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dragoş Săvoiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgil Sărăroiu in the 64th minute of play. Augustin Iorgu charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augustin Iorgu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Corsarii Tycalosi getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Virgil Sărăroiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. NLC Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgil Sărăroiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dragoş Săvoiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Dorin Pânzaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. NLC Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Dorin Pânzaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dragoş Săvoiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mugurel Tâbârnă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over NLC Stars could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Corsarii Tycalosi throughout the match.
