The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sorin Mareș during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Augustin Gurzău recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. C.S. Lia Herghe's Aron Brad got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. C.S. Lia Herghe's Aron Brad was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 18th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Augustin Gurzău fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionel Bobariu having to interfere. C.S. Lia Herghe's Eric Marin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavel Vochin in the 28th minute of play. Cornel Borza took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eric Marin. Eric Marin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Ionel Bobariu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aron Brad, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. C.S. Lia Herghe made a substitution. David Buzoianu replaced Augustin Gurzău. Alin Buricea lost his temper 43 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 42 minutes into the game, one of C.S. Lia Herghe:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After the first half Bontesti SC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aron Brad to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aron Brad in the 53rd minute of play forced Bontesti SC's goalkeeper Ionel Bobariu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Pavel Vochin made a precise shot to the right of Eric Marin. C.S. Lia Herghe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Bontesti SC's Cornel Borza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eric Marin. That made the score 1-4 after 63 minutes of play. If Cornel Borza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Bontesti SC's Pavel Vochin got a free kick in the 75th minute. Eric Marin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pavel Vochin in the 76th minute. Ionel Bobariu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aron Brad, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Dinu Ciulei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Ionel Bobariu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eric Marin made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Pavel Vochin sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 85 minutes, Pavel Vochin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bontesti SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pavel Vochin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eric Marin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornel Borza in the 87th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Aron Brad's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ionel Bobariu was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. In the 91st minute Cornel Borza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Marin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Cornel Borza took a quick shot and it went in 2-5 without a chance for Eric Marin to make any attempt to save it. The C.S. Lia Herghe manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Bontesti SC to win.
