After 3 played minutes GATEMI got a freekick which was hit by Nicu Sasu. If Moise Nisipeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriel Ursu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Dorel Vulcănescu fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GATEMI's protests and gave Dorel Vulcănescu a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 played minutes GATEMI got a freekick which was hit by Dorel Vulcănescu. 12 minutes into the match, FC Ramnicu Valcea's Ionel Buzincu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 13 minutes into the match, GATEMI's goalkeeper Mihnea Macamete had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moise Nisipeanu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Ursu in the 16th minute of play forced FC Ramnicu Valcea's goalkeeper Codruț Ghimpu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Ferdinand Ştoia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Ramnicu Valcea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GATEMI the free kick. After 17 played minutes FC Ramnicu Valcea got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinand Ştoia. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Ursu in the 22nd minute of play forced FC Ramnicu Valcea's goalkeeper Codruț Ghimpu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Valeriu Semeghin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Valeriu Morovan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mihnea Macamete was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. The supporters of GATEMI booed when FC Ramnicu Valcea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihăiţă Aluchei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gabriel Ursu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Codruț Ghimpu having to make a save. Valeriu Morovan kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 45th minute there was a penalty for FC Ramnicu Valcea. Ionel Buzincu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mihnea Macamete. 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Codruț Ghimpu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valeriu Semeghin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, GATEMI's Codruț Ghimpu threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gabriel Ursu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mihnea Macamete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moise Nisipeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valeriu Morovan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihnea Macamete having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Valeriu Morovan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valeriu Morovan in the 74th minute of play forced GATEMI's goalkeeper Mihnea Macamete to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mihnea Macamete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valeriu Morovan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mihnea Macamete made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valeriu Morovan in the 80th minute of play. Valeriu Semeghin came free with the goalkeeper in the 84th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Codruț Ghimpu could save by the left post. Mihnea Macamete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valeriu Morovan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of FC Ramnicu Valcea booed when GATEMI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horia Ciolpan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd match minute, GATEMI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Ciolpan to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in GATEMI's zone, Valeriu Morovan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihnea Macamete came out of the goal and Valeriu Morovan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Moise Nisipeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Ramnicu Valcea were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of GATEMI for a fine match.
