In the 18th minute of the match Albert Carabulea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sergiu Ceaușu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 18 played minutes Sochi got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Bunescu. Sochi's Sergiu Ceaușu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valeriu Morovan in the 21st minute of play. Valeriu Morovan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergiu Ceaușu having to interfere. Codruț Ghimpu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrei Lupoaia, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. FC Ramnicu Valcea's Codruț Ghimpu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernest Ghionea in the 30th minute of play. The wind increased when Valeriu Morovan made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Valeriu Morovan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valeriu Morovan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sergiu Ceaușu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, one of Sochi:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 72nd minute there was a penalty for FC Ramnicu Valcea. Ionel Buzincu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sergiu Ceaușu. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Valeriu Morovan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sergiu Ceaușu was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Ramnicu Valcea fully deserved thier win.
