In the 3rd minute, Costel Calciu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 6 minutes, Ivan Iovulescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ASC Dacia Unirea Braila and the Debrecen RO players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ivan Iovulescu kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Valer Voineag received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Traian Croitoru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leontin Buzea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Valer Voineag managed to get in a good position for a shot. ASC Dacia Unirea Braila's supporters rose to their feet, but Valer Voineag was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Traian Croitoru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 28th minute Leonard Bodea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Traian Croitoru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric Zdraşcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Sârbu having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Debrecen RO's Leontin Buzea slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gigel Sârbu. That made the score 1-0 after 33 minutes of play. After 36 played minutes ASC Dacia Unirea Braila got a freekick which was hit by Cezar Vârlan. A collision led to ASC Dacia Unirea Braila getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Ivan Iovulescu hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Debrecen RO's zone, Leonard Bodea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Traian Croitoru came out of the goal and Leonard Bodea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leontin Buzea made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Leonard Bodea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Traian Croitoru. That made the score 1-2 in the 68 minute of play. Traian Croitoru made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Valer Voineag sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, ASC Dacia Unirea Braila's Viorel Negrilă got a free kick in the 85th minute. If Eric Zdraşcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Traian Croitoru didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valer Voineag went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Traian Croitoru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonard Bodea in the 94th minute of the match. The ASC Dacia Unirea Braila supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ASC Dacia Unirea Braila would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
