The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, ASC Dacia Unirea Braila's Gigel Sârbu got control of the ball when Anton Simionescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. David Ghionea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gigel Sârbu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for International ACL. Valer Voineag received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Dan Udrescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, ASC Dacia Unirea Braila's goal looked a bit too open when Iordache Şelaru came free, but Gigel Sârbu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Ghionea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Iovulescu hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Ghionea made a kick off. Leonard Bodea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th match minute, International ACL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Curteanu to maneuver through the defense. When ASC Dacia Unirea Braila's Valer Voineag in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. ASC Dacia Unirea Braila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonard Bodea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ASC Dacia Unirea Braila's Gigel Sârbu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Simionescu in the 75th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Anton Simionescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gigel Sârbu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After having played for 82 minutes, Ivan Iovulescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ASC Dacia Unirea Braila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Iovulescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valer Voineag in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dan Udrescu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Valer Voineag fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Udrescu having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Valer Voineag got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. ASC Dacia Unirea Braila's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
