Dacian Croitoru showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Dacian Croitoru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10thth minute of the game Vasile Vătăşel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fc Catanga's Ionică Cupșa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gigel Ghețea kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Marcel Vieru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Visina's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcel Vieru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ionică Cupșa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gigel Ghețea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ionică Cupșa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcel Vieru in the 19th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Petruț Dulgherescu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ionică Cupșa. That made the score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. In the 24th minute Petruț Dulgherescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionică Cupșa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Marcel Vieru lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Ionică Cupșa. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristi Capătă during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Fc Catanga getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Cristi Capătă hit a great ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Vasile Vătăşel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Visina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vasile Vătăşel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Fc Catanga's zone, Petruț Dulgherescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ionică Cupșa came out of the goal and Petruț Dulgherescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Petruț Dulgherescu had several of the Fc Catanga's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 39 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Ionică Cupșa as he didn't even see the shot coming. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Remus Fința during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 42nd minute, Remus Fința hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Visina's Marcel Vieru got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Marcel Vieru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Horaţiu Zăvoiu was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Marcel Vieru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ionică Cupșa was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Ionică Cupșa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandru Stroe, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 6-0 became the score in the 61st minute when Vasile Vătăşel elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ionică Cupșa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vasile Vătăşel's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Petruț Dulgherescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Ionică Cupșa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Horaţiu Manolache took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristi Capătă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ionică Cupșa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dacian Croitoru in the 72nd minute of play. Fc Catanga's Ionică Cupșa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasile Vătăşel in the 80th minute of play. Ionică Cupșa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel Vieru, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcel Vieru in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ionică Cupșa saved Fc Catanga from getting behind. Dacian Croitoru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Ionică Cupșa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
