When Nae Adam fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ionut's protests and gave Nae Adam a yellow card for diving instead. Nae Adam hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Nicu Micescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigore Gherghescu in the 25th minute of the match. Rareș Răuţă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iordache Cristea having to interfere. If Vintilă Arnăuțoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grigore Gherghescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicu Micescu having to interfere. Grigore Gherghescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicu Micescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Rareș Răuţă put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Iordache Cristea. Rareș Răuţă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iordache Cristea having to interfere. Nichifor Bratoloveanu hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vintilă Arnăuțoiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aurelian Simionică sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aurelian Simionică struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Iordache Cristea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ionut. Aurelian Simionică sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rareș Răuţă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ionut's zone, Grigore Gherghescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicu Micescu came out of the goal and Grigore Gherghescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 85 minutes into the game, Rareș Răuţă cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Iordache Cristea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vintilă Arnăuțoiu in the 95th minute of play forced Ionut's goalkeeper Nicu Micescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ionut had played much better football throughout.
