Stelian Buga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Octav Manciulea having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laurențiu Finteșteanu during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sohodolu CSS booed when Atletico Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ionel Angheluș didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34thth minute of the game Radu Roşoga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atletico Iasi's Anton Senin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 35th minute, Radu Roşoga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Radu Roşoga in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anton Senin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Augustin Geambașu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anton Senin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radu Roşoga in the 44th minute of play. In the 48th minute Radu Roşoga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anton Senin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Radu Roşoga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Augustin Geambașu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Anton Senin firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Laurențiu Finteșteanu was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. After 72 played minutes Sohodolu CSS got a freekick which was hit by Laurențiu Finteșteanu. In the 78th minute of the match, Augustin Geambașu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Anton Senin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
