In the 9th match minute, Fc DăRmĂnEşTi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horaţiu Mocanu to maneuver through the defense. When Nicolae Panaiteanu came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Minerul Motru FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolae Panaiteanu couldn't finish the play. Nicolae Panaiteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iordache Cristea having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Gigel Ţugui was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fc DăRmĂnEşTi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Minerul Motru FC the free kick. In the 21st minute, Gigel Ţugui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iordache Cristea made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Nicolae Panaiteanu sent off a good shot on target. Octav Tomoioagă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iordache Cristea having to interfere. Mihnea Siteavu kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Iordache Cristea successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Nicolae Panaiteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Minerul Motru FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolae Panaiteanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iordache Cristea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 35 minutes into the match, Minerul Motru FC's Vasile Răduța broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Iordache Cristea was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Octav Tomoioagă capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Octav Tomoioagă really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 44th minute, Fc DăRmĂnEşTi's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nicolae Panaiteanu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Nicolae Panaiteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Iordache Cristea came out of the goal and Nicolae Panaiteanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Nicolae Panaiteanu came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Minerul Motru FC fans jumped to their feet. The referee ignored Fc DăRmĂnEşTi's protests and gave Nichifor Bratoloveanu a yellow card for diving instead. Nichifor Bratoloveanu hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Octav Tomoioagă in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iordache Cristea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iordache Cristea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolae Panaiteanu in the 71st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Fc DăRmĂnEşTi's Horaţiu Mocanu got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Minerul Motru FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
