Pavel Toader's late challenge caught a Speranta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pavel Toader helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th match minute, CF Ramnicu Valcea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavel Toader to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogdan Iuonaș in the 17th minute of play forced CF Ramnicu Valcea's goalkeeper George Tăbăcaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George Tăbăcaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dacian Lixandru in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, CF Ramnicu Valcea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florin Leucuța to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the CF Ramnicu Valcea defense, Bogdan Iuonaș kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of George Tăbăcaru. The CF Ramnicu Valcea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that George Tăbăcaru should have stopped the shot. When Mugur Poplăcean fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CF Ramnicu Valcea's protests and gave Mugur Poplăcean a yellow card for diving instead. Mugur Poplăcean kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. In the 56th minute Dacian Lixandru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Tăbăcaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 0-4 became the score in the 59th minute when Bogdan Iuonaș elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Dacian Lixandru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Tăbăcaru having to interfere. Bogdan Iuonaș kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th minute Florin Leucuța shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Aldescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, CF Ramnicu Valcea's George Tăbăcaru got control of the ball when Bogdan Iuonaș tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 74 played minutes CF Ramnicu Valcea got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Ababei. After having played for 77 minutes, Florin Leucuța managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CF Ramnicu Valcea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florin Leucuța was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Codrin Groza got free with George Tăbăcaru in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Iordache Vârjean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Tăbăcaru having to interfere. Speranta's Marcu Găvan got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Speranta played a much better game than CF Ramnicu Valcea and deserved their victory. The CF Ramnicu Valcea players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
