A collision led to Sohodolu CSS getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Ştefan Grindeanu hit a great ball. Nicolae Panaiteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octav Manciulea having to interfere. Laurențiu Finteșteanu's late challenge caught a Minerul Motru FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Laurențiu Finteșteanu helped the player get up and apologised. Laurențiu Finteșteanu hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Damian Cozma thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Octav Manciulea, a very annoying self made goal in the 24th minute which led to 2-0. If Octav Tomoioagă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Sohodolu CSS's goal looked a bit too open when Octav Tomoioagă came free, but Octav Manciulea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicolae Panaiteanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ştefan Grindeanu hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Mihail Enceanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudiu Trifu, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Radu Roşoga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihail Enceanu having to interfere. Claudiu Trifu scored 2-1 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mihail Enceanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claudiu Trifu was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Sohodolu CSS got a freekick which was hit by Ştefan Grindeanu. Octav Manciulea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolae Panaiteanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Octav Tomoioagă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octav Manciulea having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Claudiu Trifu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Sohodolu CSS's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudiu Trifu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mihail Enceanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Claudiu Trifu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mihail Enceanu. That made the score 2-3 in the 95 minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sohodolu CSS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
