Valeriu Iancu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicodim Lupașcu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Sacalii Furibunzi's Costică Buda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicodim Lupașcu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Costică Buda got free with Nicodim Lupașcu in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Valeriu Iancu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Sacalii Furibunzi booed when Rudna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudiu Cubleșan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costică Buda succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 34th playminute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Cosmin Baniu made the kick off in the second half. If Claudiu Cubleșan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sacalii Furibunzi's defense didn't have a chance, in the 54th minute, when Cosmin Baniu scored to the left of an out of position Viorel Tomoiu, making the score, 2-1. Cosmin Baniu kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Claudiu Cubleșan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute of the match, Cosmin Baniu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Viorel Tomoiu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 73rd minute Valeriu Iancu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodim Lupașcu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sacalii Furibunzi's Costică Buda got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Viorel Tomoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosmin Baniu in the 77th minute of the match. In the 80th match minute, Sacalii Furibunzi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vali Andronic to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute of the match Leontin Vârlan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Viorel Tomoiu skillfully saved the ball. When Mugur Mineață fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sacalii Furibunzi's protests and gave Mugur Mineață a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sacalii Furibunzi getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Mugur Mineață hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Rudna's Leonard Aliuta broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Sacalii Furibunzi's Viorel Tomoiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Sacalii Furibunzi from getting a goal against them. 96 minutes into the match, Rudna's Claudiu Cubleșan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Viorel Tomoiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rudna's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
