Dinu Jurcuț showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augustin Alexandrescu in the 4th minute of the match. Dinu Jurcuț stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aurel Geoană's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. If Augustin Alexandrescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augustin Alexandrescu in the 16th minute of play forced FC Jiul Petrosani's goalkeeper Dinu Jurcuț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, CS Carp eDiem's Tiberiu Petcu got a free kick in the 38th minute. Victor Magheru's late challenge caught a CS Carp eDiem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victor Magheru helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FC Jiul Petrosani getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Victor Magheru hit a great ball. Valeriu Chirițescu made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Nae Ghizdeanu sent off a good shot on target. Nae Ghizdeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valeriu Chirițescu having to interfere. Valeriu Chirițescu made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Eusebiu Vădan sent off a good shot on target. After 48 played minutes FC Jiul Petrosani got a freekick which was hit by Nae Ghizdeanu. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 67 minutes CS Carp eDiem's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cazimir Chiliman who took care of the corner kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Augustin Alexandrescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. CS Carp eDiem's supporters rose to their feet, but Augustin Alexandrescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dinu Jurcuț breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Augustin Alexandrescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Dinu Jurcuț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Eusebiu Vădan managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Jiul Petrosani's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusebiu Vădan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valeriu Chirițescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 80 minutes into the match, Augustin Alexandrescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dinu Jurcuț. FC Jiul Petrosani's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augustin Alexandrescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Eusebiu Vădan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Tiberiu Petcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The CS Carp eDiem supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CS Carp eDiem would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
