Spectators: 7471 (Terracing: 5604, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Petrică Stroia started the match with the kick off. Cezar Jienescu's late challenge caught a Evanescent's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cezar Jienescu helped the player get up and apologised. Cezar Jienescu kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Valeriu Blăniță's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silviu Minulescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Ernest Hârciog was extremely unlucky when he, in the 14th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. FC Timisoara's Aristide Armeanca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petrică Stroia in the 18th minute of play. When Gigi Aaxiniei came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the FC Timisoara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gigi Aaxiniei couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute, Iustin Tarchilă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernest Hârciog recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Silviu Minulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valeriu Blăniță in the 27th minute of play. When Valeriu Blăniță fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Timisoara's protests and gave Valeriu Blăniță a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Evanescent booed when FC Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valeriu Blăniță didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 33 minutes, Ernest Hârciog managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Evanescent's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernest Hârciog was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gigi Aaxiniei scored 0-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silviu Minulescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Gigi Aaxiniei managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Timisoara's supporters rose to their feet, but Gigi Aaxiniei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silviu Minulescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gigi Aaxiniei in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silviu Minulescu saved Evanescent from getting behind. The Evanescent players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Timisoara were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gigi Aaxiniei to make the kick off. With a little luck, Evanescent's Silviu Minulescu got control of the ball when Valeriu Blăniță tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 57th minute Ernest Hârciog shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristide Armeanca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petrică Stroia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aristide Armeanca having to make a save. In the 66th minute, Ernest Hârciog got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evanescent's Petrică Stroia got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Silviu Minulescu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Ernest Hârciog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernest Hârciog in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aristide Armeanca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, FC Timisoara's Cezar Jienescu got a free kick in the 78th minute. Petrică Stroia took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aristide Armeanca. Aristide Armeanca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Petrică Stroia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ernest Hârciog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Aristide Armeanca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valeriu Blăniță got free with Silviu Minulescu in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eugen Zotincă kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. In the 100th minute, Manole Ceaușu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
