Nechifor Perșa went to the cornerflag to take it. Costin Jilăveanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costică Dobrin in the 29th minute of play. Costin Jilăveanu made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Nicu Iuonaș sent off a good shot on target. 33 minutes into the game, Costică Dobrin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Costin Jilăveanu. Costică Dobrin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Avram Oprișan made a kick off. Costin Jilăveanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Dănilă in the 61st minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Pocola's goal looked a bit too open when Nicu Iuonaș came free, but Costin Jilăveanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Nicu Iuonaș had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Costin Jilăveanu. Pocola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicu Iuonaș was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Costică Dobrin might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Costin Jilăveanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Costică Dobrin ran back to his position shaking his head. After 73 minutes of play, BVB BORUSSIA DORTMUND's Maxim Gologan made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Costin Jilăveanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 78th minute, Claudiu Silişteanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Costică Patriciu made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Avram Oprișan sent off a good shot on target. 84 minutes into the game, Sever Isaicu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pocola's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BVB BORUSSIA DORTMUND the free kick. In the 84th match minute, Pocola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sever Isaicu to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Pocola's zone, Nicu Iuonaș stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Costin Jilăveanu came out of the goal and Nicu Iuonaș tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Costin Jilăveanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costică Dobrin, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The supporters of BVB BORUSSIA DORTMUND booed when Pocola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sever Isaicu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute Costică Dobrin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costin Jilăveanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pocola players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for BVB BORUSSIA DORTMUND.
