Spectators: 7406 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 50) rupe's Lucrețiu Roşca started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to rupe getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Sandu Baniu hit a great ball. In the 4th match minute, AFC AMA BUZAU was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mugur Talianu to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, AFC AMA BUZAU's goalkeeper Stelian Drâmbă had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgar Miniș. Liviu Mortu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihail Muncelean in the 11th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Octav Banu managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC AMA BUZAU's supporters rose to their feet, but Octav Banu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Liviu Mortu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marius Arnăuțoiu in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Liviu Mortu saved rupe from getting behind. Cezar Caramitru hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After 24 played minutes AFC AMA BUZAU got a freekick which was hit by Marius Arnăuțoiu. Liviu Mortu came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by AFC AMA BUZAU's Mihail Muncelean. But to his dismay, Mihail Muncelean quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. AFC AMA BUZAU's Mihail Muncelean got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 38 minutes into the game, one of AFC AMA BUZAU:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Stelian Drâmbă went to the wrong direction when Vlad Ţeica was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Marius Arnăuțoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octav Banu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liviu Mortu having to interfere. Remus Neguțu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mihail Muncelean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Marius Arnăuțoiu made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to AFC AMA BUZAU getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Constantin Seţeanu hit a great ball. AFC AMA BUZAU's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stelian Mitrofan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, AFC AMA BUZAU's Codruț Costescu got a free kick in the 65th minute. After a defensive mix-up in rupe's zone, Marius Arnăuțoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Liviu Mortu came out of the goal and Marius Arnăuțoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, rupe's Liviu Mortu got control of the ball when Marius Arnăuțoiu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marius Arnăuțoiu struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Liviu Mortu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC AMA BUZAU. When Marius Arnăuțoiu came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the AFC AMA BUZAU fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marius Arnăuțoiu couldn't finish the play. Remus Neguțu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Liviu Mortu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Mihail Muncelean came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the AFC AMA BUZAU fans jumped to their feet. Despite being the better team, AFC AMA BUZAU failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
