Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Fabian Zburliş made the kick off which started today's match. Lucian Romulus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maxim Bîlbă, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Maxim Bîlbă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucian Romulus having to interfere. In the 10th minute Dorel Loghin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iosif Şuţu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iosif Şuţu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Zburliş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dorel Șişman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Lucian Romulus made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maxim Bîlbă in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucian Romulus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lucian Romulus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maxim Bîlbă in the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the game, Mugurel Drăgănoiu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Lucian Romulus was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 22 played minutes Topilele got a freekick which was hit by Maxim Bîlbă. Iosif Şuţu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Zburliş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mugurel Drăgănoiu took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucian Romulus. Lucian Romulus dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 34th minute Dorel Loghin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iosif Şuţu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Topilele's Dorel Șişman got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maxim Bîlbă in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucian Romulus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Constantin Iorgulescu came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Topilele fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Constantin Iorgulescu couldn't finish the play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maxim Bîlbă to strike the kick off in the second half. Maxim Bîlbă blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lucian Romulus having to make a save. Maxim Bîlbă recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Universitatea Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Maxim Bîlbă came free, but Lucian Romulus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Constantin Iorgulescu during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Universitatea Cluj booed when Topilele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantin Iorgulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mugurel Drăgănoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Lucian Romulus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Universitatea Cluj getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Avram Jdeica hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxim Bîlbă in the 67th minute of play forced Universitatea Cluj's goalkeeper Lucian Romulus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes of play, Topilele's Claudiu Banu made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lucian Romulus was left in no man's land by his defense there! Basarab Eftimescu struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Lucian Romulus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Topilele. In the 78th minute Maxim Bîlbă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucian Romulus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute, Topilele's Basarab Eftimescu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Basarab Eftimescu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Topilele protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Basarab Eftimescu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 80 played minutes Topilele got a freekick which was hit by Basarab Eftimescu. Dorel Șişman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Universitatea Cluj defense, Maxim Bîlbă kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucian Romulus. The Universitatea Cluj fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucian Romulus should have stopped the shot. Iosif Şuţu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Zburliş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lucian Romulus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorel Șişman in the 93rd minute of play. Gigel Robescu struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Lucian Romulus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Topilele. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Topilele had played much better football throughout.
