CSMS Iasi's Vlad Baicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sorin Porumboiu in the 6th minute of play. Emanuel Olariu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vlad Baicu having to interfere. Dinu Panduru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Vlad Baicu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Emanuel Olariu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Young Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Olariu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vlad Baicu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dinu Dobre kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. If Sorin Porumboiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Young Boys booed when CSMS Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinu Dobre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vlad Baicu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sorin Porumboiu in the 27th minute of the match. Adrian Honcioiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dacian Brânzaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Young Boys's Emanuel Olariu got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 35 played minutes CSMS Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Dinu Dobre. Vlad Baicu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toader Duca in the 38th minute of the match. The throw-in from Gigel Feraru in the 42nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Young Boys's Dorel Scaeru. Vlad Baicu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Olariu in the 43rd minute of play. Adrian Honcioiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dacian Brânzaru in the 45th minute of the match. Emanuel Olariu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vlad Baicu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The supporters of Young Boys booed when CSMS Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinu Dobre didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Olariu was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Emanuel Olariu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dinu Panduru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Vlad Baicu made a huge save. If Dinu Panduru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Olariu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vlad Baicu having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, CSMS Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Sorin Porumboiu came free, but Vlad Baicu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute Emanuel Olariu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vlad Baicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emil Panaite took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vlad Baicu. Vlad Baicu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Emanuel Olariu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind CSMS Iasi's goalkeeper Vlad Baicu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adrian Honcioiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Petriceanu in the 71st minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, CSMS Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Sorin Porumboiu came free, but Vlad Baicu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dacian Brânzaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Honcioiu having to interfere. Emanuel Olariu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valentin Zăgănescu's late challenge caught a CSMS Iasi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valentin Zăgănescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute, Valentin Zăgănescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Young Boys left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than CSMS Iasi.
