After some careless play in the CSMS Iasi defense, Codrin Bărbulescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vlad Baicu. The CSMS Iasi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vlad Baicu should have stopped the shot. Vlad Baicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Secară, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Dinu Dobre charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dinu Dobre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 27 played minutes CSMS Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Dinu Dobre. Denis Secară received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Vlad Baicu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Gropnita AS booed when CSMS Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dumitru Ionașcu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute Denis Secară shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vlad Baicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marius Ghercioiu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. In the 46th minute, Dumitru Ionașcu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The Gropnita AS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After having played for 60 minutes, Dacian Săvescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gropnita AS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dacian Săvescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, CSMS Iasi's Vlad Baicu got control of the ball when Dacian Săvescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. CSMS Iasi's Dacian Brânzaru got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edgar Paraschiv received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Vlad Baicu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Stelian Petruț hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dacian Brânzaru in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marius Ghercioiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dacian Săvescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 79 minutes, Edgar Paraschiv mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gropnita AS and the CSMS Iasi players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of CSMS Iasi booed when Gropnita AS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Paraschiv didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Martin Petriceanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marius Ghercioiu was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. The CSMS Iasi fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gropnita AS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
