An unexpectedly hard shot by Florin Baniu in the 21st minute of play forced FC SPIRIT's goalkeeper Nicodim Cozmâncă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iacob Lupulescu got free with Adrian Surdu in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Florin Baniu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicodim Cozmâncă having to interfere. In the 33rd match minute, FC SPIRIT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ion Andone to maneuver through the defense. Nicodim Cozmâncă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nechifor Brumă in the 37th minute of the match. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC SPIRIT's goalkeeper Nicodim Cozmâncă, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC SPIRIT's zone, Nechifor Brumă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicodim Cozmâncă came out of the goal and Nechifor Brumă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nechifor Brumă in the 72nd minute of play forced FC SPIRIT's goalkeeper Nicodim Cozmâncă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Gigel Blidaru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC SPIRIT fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Nicodim Cozmâncă made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Florin Baniu sent off a good shot on target. In the 78th minute, Nechifor Brumă fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With a little luck, FC SPIRIT's Nicodim Cozmâncă got control of the ball when Florin Baniu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adrian Surdu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Blidaru in the 83rd minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Nicodim Cozmâncă successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. During the 92nd minute of the match Ştefan Vergulescu completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ştefan Vergulescu a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 95 minutes of play FC Steaua Bucuresti's Ciprian Răuțchi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ciprian Răuțchi hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Steaua Bucuresti players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC SPIRIT.
