The Viltotesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliodor Tecău should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Viltotesti getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Octav Gherasescu hit a great ball. In the 40th minute of the match David Popean shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eliodor Tecău showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eliodor Tecău showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandru Panciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Cosmin Neicu made the kick off in the second half. Cosmin Neicu scored 1-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcu Cucerzan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cosmin Neicu ran back to his position shaking his head. 67 minutes into the match, CFR Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Ştefan Grigore came free, but Marcu Cucerzan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sever Cângea's late challenge caught a CFR Cluj's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 93rd minute, Cornel Dulfu sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and CFR Cluj's Marcu Cucerzan didn't even have to move. 95 minutes into the match, Cosmin Neicu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcu Cucerzan. CFR Cluj's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cosmin Neicu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Viltotesti were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of CFR Cluj for a fine match.
