The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Adam Iovanovici kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eliodor Tecău. That made the score 1-1 in the 17 minute of play. Marcu Becheanu succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 25th playminute. Eliodor Tecău made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Iovanovici in the 29th minute of play. Mihail Magheran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ştefan Grigore, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Cosmin Neicu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Mihail Magheran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Octav Gherasescu hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Marcu Becheanu scored 3-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eliodor Tecău, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cornel Dulfu during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Mihail Magheran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosmin Neicu, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Mihail Magheran was a little too slow when Cosmin Neicu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 61st minute. The score was now 3-2. When Petrică Muntean fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Viltotesti's protests and gave Petrică Muntean a yellow card for diving instead. Petrică Muntean hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, Ştefan Grigore had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mihail Magheran. Old Boys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ştefan Grigore was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. In the 86th minute Cosmin Neicu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihail Magheran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ştefan Grigore struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Mihail Magheran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Viltotesti. Mihail Magheran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosmin Neicu in the 94th minute of play. Nicu Saşca hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Despite being the better team, Viltotesti failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
